Rainbow Watersports
Client Portal — Step 02

Credentials

How to give DJ access to each platform. Most of these don't require sharing a password — you simply add an account as a collaborator directly inside the platform. Steps are verified against official documentation.

Before you start

Complete the Ownership Verification page first — this page assumes you've already confirmed you can log into each system.

Click the numbered circles to mark steps complete as you go. Progress saves automatically.

Add DJ as a user
These platforms have built-in user management. No passwords are shared — you simply add an account as a collaborator.
📝
WordPress
Add DJ as an Administrator via Users → Add New User
ℹ️WordPress has its own user system. Adding DJ as an Administrator gives access to audit plugins, migrate content, and configure the site — without sharing your own login credentials.
Log into WordPress
rainbowwatersports.com/wp-admin
Go to the WordPress admin panel.
Go to Users → Add New User
In the left sidebar, click Users, then click "Add New User" at the top of the page.
Fill in the new account details
Enter the following: • Username: anything (e.g. dj-dev) • Email: [DJ's email] • Role: Administrator Leave the password field auto-generated — WordPress will email a login link automatically.
How this worksMake sure "Send the new user an email about their account" is checked. DJ will receive a login link by email and can set their own password.
Click Add New User
Click the blue "Add New User" button at the bottom of the form.
What you're looking forThe new account should appear in Users → All Users with the role Administrator. DJ will receive an email with a link to set their password and log in.
Send DJ

No need to send anything — DJ will receive the login email automatically once you add the account.

🔍
Google Search Console
Add DJ as an Owner via Settings → Users and permissions
ℹ️Search Console uses Google account permissions. You add DJ's Google account directly — no password sharing. Only a property Owner can add users, so you'll need to confirm you have Owner access first (see the Verification page).
Open Google Search Console
search.google.com/search-console
Sign in with the Google account that owns the Rainbow Watersports property.
Select the rainbowwatersports.com property
Use the property dropdown in the top left to select the correct property. Make sure you're on the right one.
Open Settings → Users and permissions
Click the Settings gear icon in the left navigation pane. Select "Users and permissions." This page is only visible if you're a property Owner.
NoteIf you don't see Users and permissions, your account may not have Owner status. Check your permission level under Settings → Ownership verification.
Add user
Click "Add user." Enter [DJ's Google account email]. Set permission to Owner. Click Add.
What you're looking forDJ's email should appear in the users list with "Owner" permission. Owner access lets DJ submit sitemaps, monitor rankings, verify redirects after launch, and manage other users if needed — the full access this project actually requires.
Send DJ

Let DJ know once the account has been added. DJ will confirm access from their end.

📊
Google Analytics
Add DJ as an Administrator at the Account level
ℹ️GA4 uses Google account permissions. Editor-level access can't manage users, properties, or data-sharing settings — Administrator can do everything Editor can, plus that. Account-level (not just Property-level) is what this project actually needs.
Open Google Analytics
analytics.google.com
Sign in with the Google account associated with Rainbow Watersports.
Click the Admin gear icon
Click the gear icon in the bottom left corner of the screen to open the Admin panel.
Click Account Access Management
In the Admin panel, look at the Account column on the left (not the Property column on the right). Click "Account Access Management." Important: this project needs Account-level access, not just Property-level — Account-level includes everything Property-level does, plus broader management.
How this worksIf you're unsure which property you're in, check the Measurement ID in Property Settings — it should read G-6WXE90X597.
Add user
Click the blue + icon in the top right. Select "Add users." Enter [DJ's Google account email]. Select role: Administrator. Click Add.
What you're looking forDJ's email should appear in the list with the Administrator role. Administrator can view and modify all data and configurations, and manage other users — the full access level this project needs, not the more limited Editor role.
Send DJ

Let DJ know once added. DJ will verify access to property G-6WXE90X597.

🏷️
Google Tag Manager
Add DJ as Admin at the account level, plus Publish at the container level
ℹ️GTM has two separate permission levels managed in different places, and this is easy to under-grant without realizing it: Admin at the account level does NOT automatically include container-level edit rights on a standard (non-360) account. Both grants are needed to properly audit and clean up the unknown tracking scripts found on your site.
Open Google Tag Manager
tagmanager.google.com
Sign in with the Google account associated with Rainbow Watersports.
Select the correct account and click Admin
On the home screen, select the account associated with rainbowwatersports.com. Then click the "Admin" tab at the top of the screen.
Grant account-level access first
Under the Account column on the left, click "User Management." Click the + icon, select "Add Users," enter [DJ's Google account email], and set the account role to Admin — that's the actual role name; "Editor" and "Administrator" are not valid GTM account roles.
Grant container-level access separately
Still in Admin, find the specific container for rainbowwatersports.com under the Container column and add DJ there too. Set Container Permissions to Publish (needed to ship changes) or at minimum Edit (needed to build changes, but not publish without a separate Approve/Publish-level user). Click Invite.
What you're looking forDJ will receive an email invitation. Once accepted, they'll appear in the user list with Admin at the account level and Publish (or Edit) at the container level.
How this worksGTM container permission levels are: Read (view only), Edit (create/modify tags), Approve (review changes), Publish (push to live). There is no "Administrator" role at the container level — that name only applies loosely to the account-level Admin role, and conflating the two under-permissions the install.
Send DJ

Let DJ know once both the account-level and container-level invitations have been sent — they're granted separately and both are needed.

Embed codes only
No login sharing needed. You copy a piece of code from the platform and send it over.
🎫
FareHarbor
Copy and send embed codes for each active listing
ℹ️The new website connects to FareHarbor via embed widgets — small pieces of code that load your booking calendar directly on the page. DJ doesn't need account access, just the correct embed code for each active service.
Log into your FareHarbor dashboard
fareharbor.com/dashboard/rainbowwatersportsadventure/
Your account shortname is rainbowwatersportsadventure.
Go to Items or Activities
Find the section listing all your bookable services.
What you're looking forYou should see your active listings — SUP Lessons, Kayak Rentals, etc.
Open each active listing and find the embed code
Click on the first active service. Look for a tab or button that says "Embed," "Share," or "Book Now Button."
How this worksThe embed code is a short block of text starting with <script> or a link. It's usually in a "Website" or "Embed" tab inside the listing settings. Copy it, then repeat for every active listing.
Can't find the embed codes?
fareharbor.com/contact/
FareHarbor support is fast. Call or chat them and say: "I need the embed code for each of my active listings to put on my new website." They can walk you through it.
Send DJ

Send DJ: the name of each active listing and the embed code for each one. A simple labeled list — "SUP Private Lesson: [code]", "Kayak Rental: [code]" — is perfect.

Secure credential handoff
These platforms require actual login credentials to be shared. Use an encrypted tool — never send passwords in plain text over email or text message.
🖥️
Nexcess
Share account credentials using Bitwarden Send
ℹ️Once you've confirmed the Nexcess account is under your name (see Verification page), DJ may need the credentials to verify the server configuration before launch. This is a one-time handoff — use an encrypted sharing tool, not email or text.
First — complete the Verification step for Nexcess
Before sharing any credentials, confirm the account is yours and billing is under your name. See the Ownership Verification page.
NoteIf you cannot log into Nexcess or the account appears to be under the previous owner, do not share anything. Contact DJ first to discuss next steps.
Go to Bitwarden Send
bitwarden.com/products/send/
Bitwarden Send is a free, encrypted tool for sharing sensitive information. The link self-destructs after it's been read.
Create a Send
Click "Create a Send." Select type: Text. Type the Nexcess email address and password. Set expiration to: after 1 view and 24 hours. Click Save.
Send the link to DJ
Copy the generated link and send it to DJ via text message or Signal. Do not send it by email.
What you're looking forThe link looks like: send.bitwarden.com/xxxxx — DJ opens it once, reads the credentials, and the link expires automatically.
Send DJ

Send DJ the Bitwarden Send link via text or Signal. Label it "Nexcess" so it's clear what it contains.

Launch day — do together
No credentials to share in advance. The action happens on launch day with DJ present.
🌐
GoDaddy
Nameserver change — done together on launch day
ℹ️The only thing that needs to happen in GoDaddy is a nameserver change at launch — switching the domain from Nexcess to whichever hosting environment the new site actually launches on. That destination isn't settled yet (there's a separate, still-open question about a second Hostinger account found during the audit — see the Verification page) — but the mechanics of this step are the same either way. This takes 2 minutes and should be done with DJ present so it can be verified immediately.
Before launch day
Make sure you've confirmed you can log into GoDaddy and the domain is renewed (see Verification page). That's all that's needed in advance. Do not touch the nameservers before launch day.
On launch day
DJ will provide the new nameservers once the hosting destination is finalized and the new site is ready. You log into GoDaddy together and change the nameservers from ns1-ns4.nexcess.net to the new values DJ provides.
How this worksThe change itself takes about 2 minutes in GoDaddy. DNS propagation takes up to 48 hours — during that window both old and new sites stay live simultaneously. There is no downtime.
After the change
DJ monitors the transition. You shouldn't need to touch GoDaddy again after the nameserver change.
What you're looking forWithin a few hours, the new site should load at rainbowwatersports.com. DJ will confirm this and monitor for 30 days post-launch.
Send DJ

Nothing to send in advance. Coordinate with DJ on the launch day timing.

Confirm ownership only
These platforms don't require giving DJ access. Just confirm you have owner access and what email it's under.

Hostinger — Client Account
Determine whose account this is and what it contains
ℹ️A Hostinger environment was found with a copy of your site during initial contact. Its origin is unclear — it may belong to the previous owner, or it may be an account you set up. This needs to be clarified.

Note what you find
One of three things will happen: 1. You can log in and recognize it — note the billing name and what's on it 2. You can log in but don't recognize the contents 3. You cannot log in
NoteIf you cannot log in, do not attempt to claim or recover the account without talking to DJ first. It may belong to the previous owner.
